All wildlife on the property is protected.
Everything from Flowers to Butterflies to bumblebees to birds, raccoon and everything in between..
Their lives are precious and should never be approached, or tampered with in any way.
Please only observe the wildlife here; they know this is a safe space.. in a world taken from them.
On this property we feed the birds! And the Rainbow Painted Buntings will be back between April and October for the feeder in the back yard. They require special FINCH seed or they will not stay. This is a treasure for your property to have a family of these birds returning every year to visit the back yard from dusk until dawn.
Another wonderful feature of this property is the pond. This pond has been rehabilitated from a chemical filled body of water with little life; into a busy ecosystem of fish, shrimp, dragonflies, and singing frogs. This pond provides the yard with life and only needs the occasional MINOR removal of some seaweed.
ALL chemicals used in the yard will go into the pond.

Red-shouldered Hawk (Buteo lineatus) - forest-dwelling raptors that adapt incredibly well to suburban Florida neighborhoods with mature trees. They are sit-and-wait predators that hunt from elevated perches like fence posts, trees, or utility lines before dropping down into the grass

Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) - are master ambush predators. They will stand perfectly still in tall grass or brush before striking. Given the previous invasive pests you have seen on your property, a Great Blue Heron is an ideal visitor—they are large and powerful enough to easily hunt, spear, and swallow young green iguanas, Cuban tree frogs, and juvenile black-and-white tegus, alongside native snakes and rodents
Florida Kingsnake (Lampropeltis floridana) - are non-venomous, powerful constrictors native to Florida, highly celebrated for their ability to hunt and consume venomous snakes. They possess a natural immunity to the venom of pit vipers, allowing them to safely eat cottonmouths, copperheads, and rattlesnakes. SUPER Rare. Seen only 3 times in 5 years.

Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) - This is the female. A mated pair has always been on this property once the feeders were installed. This is their home and they bring their chicks to the feeder each spring
Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) - Cardinals are primarily seed-eaters, though they readily supplement their diet with wild fruits, berries, and large insects during the spring nesting season. If you want to keep them visiting your yard, they favor specific foods: Black Oil Sunflower Seeds, Safflower Seeds, .Cracked Corn & White Millet

Green frog (Lithobates clamitans) - They thrive along the shorelines of permanent freshwater bodies such as ponds, lakes, marshes, and slow-moving streams
Black-and-white Warbler, identifiable by its distinctive bold, zebra-like black and white stripes. It is a small songbird with a thin, slightly curved bill, which it uses to forage for insects on tree trunks and branches. These birds are common victims of window collisions, which can leave them stunned on the ground for hours or even days.

Green Heron (Butorides virescens) - small, stocky wading birds about the size of a crow, but they possess an incredible hunting superpower. They are one of the very few bird species documented using tools to hunt. They will deliberately drop small objects like twigs, insects, berries, or feathers onto the surface of the water to act as fishing bait, waiting patiently for a curious fish to swim up before striking with lightning speed
